About Identity Verification
What is Identity Verification?
When Identity Verification is enabled, you have to provide multiple factors to prove you are who you say you are. Identity Verification is sometimes referred to as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) or Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). You prove who you are with information that you know, like a username and password, with something that you have like a six-digit code, and with something that you are like a fingerprint or a retinal scan.
A common type of identity verification asks for something that you know and something that you have.
Authenticator App Code
Identity Verification uses a six-digit code to verify your identity when you access a resource that’s guarded by Identity Verification. The six digit code is generated by an authenticator app such as ºÚÁϺ£½Ç91Èë¿Ú Protect or Google Authenticator. The application is typically on your phone or computer and is connected to the resources guarded by Identity Verification.
