However, you may not want to use a personal or a company device. Instead, you can use a Virtual Machine (VM) that simulates a separate device.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The process for creating VMs depends on your host OS. Windows host devices can utilize Hyper-V, which is built into the OS and requires no installation. Mac host devices can utilize a third-party hypervisor application such as VMware Fusion, Virtual Box, or UTM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Windows Hosts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Considerations<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Hyper-V is included on all Windows 10 devices. There is nothing to download.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Setting up a Windows VM Using Hyper-V<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To set up a VM using Hyper-V<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Open&nbsp;<strong>Windows Powershell<\/strong>. You can do this by searching for it in the search bar on your machine.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Run the following command in the Powershell window:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-code-block code-block\"><div class=\"code-block-snippet is-type-body-default\">\n<p>Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Hyper-V -All&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>When the installation completes, reboot your device.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open&nbsp;<strong>Hyper-V Quick Create<\/strong>&nbsp;from the start menu. Or, by searching for it in the search bar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select&nbsp;<strong>Windows 10 Dev Environment<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card note\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/note-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Note:<\/strong> \n<p>You can choose a different included environment or select<strong>&nbsp;Local Installation Source<\/strong>&nbsp;to add your own.&nbsp;<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li>Select&nbsp;<strong>Create Virtual Machine<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Hyper-V will then create your virtual machine. This process can take some time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Accessing your Windows VM<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once complete, you can access your virtual machine:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Open<strong>&nbsp;Hyper-V Manager<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Double-click the name of your virtual machine.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MacOS Hosts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Considerations<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>MacOS VMs can only be created on MacOS host devices, as part of Apple&#8217;s license agreement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Mac hosts must utilize a third-party hypervisor application to create VMs (guests). The hypervisor you choose will depend on the hardware platform of your Apple device (Intel vs. Apple silicon).
